Ogallala, Neb. A ribbon cutting and open house are scheduled to take place at the newly opened NPPD Ogallala Operations Center located at 300 S. Clarice Road in Ogallala. The event will take place on Wednesday, March 21, with a ribbon cutting kicking off at 1 p.m. (Mountain), immediately followed by a public open house until 3 p.m. Refreshments will be served.
A former Bomgaars retail store, the 22,500 square-foot renovated facility opened in January of this year and includes what was three separate NPPD buildings – a retail customer service/distribution center, a substation garage/shop building, and a telecommunications/substation technician building.
According to NPPD Economic Development Consultant Brian Vasa, “NPPD is happy to renovate an existing facility and have all parts of the Ogallala office under one roof.”
“NPPD is excited to be located in a high visibility location for customers and the building also provides an additional layer of safety for NPPD employees as the District’s vehicles will now be housed inside the new facility. We want to thank the city of Ogallala for helping with the project, and we are proud to work alongside and provide power to the city,” said Vasa.
