Aurora 69 kV Line Project
Aurora 69,000-volt Sub-transmission Line Addition Project
(Aurora 69 kV Project)
Six-part project to build and interconnect sub-transmission system in and near Aurora.
The Aurora 69 kV Project is needed to:
- meet existing and projected electric energy needs in the area
- complete a multi-year plan to maintain and increase the sub-transmission system in the area
- provide the community of Aurora with multiple voltage sources – from two different NPPD 115 kV substations – thereby enhancing the reliable delivery of electric energy to the citizens of Aurora
Work on the $2.5 million (preliminary budget estimate) project is scheduled to begin on a .85-mile stretch of line in central Aurora in October 2012 (see map). The project is expected to be completed the second quarter of 2013.
