INFORMATION GUIDE

Cooper Nuclear Station (CNS) operates as the largest single-unit

electrical generator in the state, generating 810 megawatts of

electricity. This would be enough power to supply more than

310,000 residential customers during the highest summer usage

period.

In late November 2010, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission renewed

the plant’s license through January 18, 2034, which is an additional

20 years beyond its initial 40-year license. NPPD has a service

agreement with Entergy Nuclear Nebraska through 2029.

CNS provides Nebraskans with safe, clean & reliable electricity.
