NPPD has offered net metering since 2008.  As of December 31, 2012, NPPD had 28 net metering qualified facilities with total generating capacity of 135.8 kilowatts. The total estimated amount of energy produced by these customer generators in 2012 was 175,896 kilowatt-hours, and the net kWh received from them was 6602 kilowatt-hours.
