Melissa Freelend

Melissa Freelend of Kearney began her term as Director of Subdivision 3 in January of 2017. A fifth generation Nebraskan and Grand Island native, Melissa attended Grand Island Senior High and Central Community College. She worked in early childhood education for Head Start and Central City Elementary School. Since 2007, Melissa has held a career in media and broadcasting, being a Community Service Director and On Air personality for a Kearney radio station. Freelend enjoys volunteering in her area, and giving her time to Big Brothers Big Sisters and Habitat for Humanity. Melissa Freelend and her husband, Justin Witte, were married in 2015.
