Virgil L. Froehlich began his term of office on the NPPD Board of Directors in January 2005. Mr. Froehlich is retired President and CEO of Affiliated Foods Midwest, a position he held for 27 years at the regional wholesale distribution center headquartered in Norfolk. Froehlich has served with various local civic organizations, including the Norfolk Chamber of Commerce, the Elkhorn Valley Museum, and the Research Center for the Community Health Clinic. On the state level, Froehlich served on the State Chamber of Commerce and received the 'Hall of Fame' recognition and has also served on various government committees for highway developments. Nationally, he has served on the Board of the National Grocer’s Association and the Shurfine Board of Directors for several years.
