Darrell J. Nelson of Oconto was seated on the NPPD Board of Directors in 1985. Prior to election to the NPPD Board, Nelson had 14 years of experience in public power. A farmer/rancher, Nelson is a former director of Custer Public Power District, Nebraska Electric Generation and Transmission Cooperative, and the Nebraska Rural Electric Association. He has also held the office of chairman for the Custer Rural Area Development Committee and director for the Custer Association for Retarded Citizens.
