Irrigation Rate Options

NPPD also offers many rate options for irrigation customers. Depending on your irrigation operation, NPPD has available the following choices:

  • Standard Irrigation ( IRRIG-1 ) - Allows customer to operate anytime with a fixed electricity rate.

  • Stand-By ( SBIR ) - Pay a fixed-charge to have electric service available to an irrigation pump that might not be used during the irrigation season. If the well is used, pay the Standard Irrigation rage. Sign-up deadline: June 1.

  • Time of Use ( IRRIG-2 ) - Allows customer to operate anytime, but receive lower rates by irrigating during mid- and off-peak hours. Sign-up deadline: April 15.

  • Interruptible Service ( IRRIG-3 ) - Pay a lower rate based on the interruptible control pattern selected. Sign-up deadline: April 15.

Depending on your kilowatt hour and demand usage NPPD's Customer Service and Account Management staff are available to help you analyze your usage pattern to determine the most economical irrigation rate for you.
