Who We Serve

Nebraska Public Power District owns or has operating control of 36 power plants in the state and maintains more than 5,000 miles of transmission lines and nearly 2,500 miles of distribution lines. NPPD is mainly a generator and/or transmitter, selling the power to 52 communities and 24 public power district or rural cooperatives who serve the customer directly. Because of our role as both a retail and wholesale provider, an estimated 1 million people in Nebraska depend on NPPD for electricity.
