The York Operations Center (YOC) provides engineering, supply and construction support for NPPD's transmission, substation, telecommunications and transportation operations. The YOC operates a 24-hour dispatch for ensuring quality service to our customers, and performs many other services that are available to customers.

This facility includes:

• specialized test shops, where technicians calibrate and repair electric meters and telecommunications equipment as well as examine the protective equipment used by linemen to ensure safety;
• an automotive garage, where technicians inspect and repair more than 500 District vehicles as well as the construction and hydraulic equipment;
• a warehouse that supplies materials to more than 35 crews and stations across the state;
• a storage yard for the transformers and four mobile generators available for ready use during storm outages or other emergencies.

Transmission, substation and communications crews are strategically located around the state to enhance NPPD's service responsibility to customers.
